近年來台東幾處學校興起創意建築風潮，也陸續成為吸睛新景點；比如台東大學知本校區，及豐源、富山國小等，遊客在不打擾學生上課前提下，可以感受在地特色新景點。另外，當地的老房子活化再造，也值得旅人走訪，體驗台東的古早味及慢步調。
